Alabama A&M University Events Center
The Event Center creates a gateway to the west side of the Alabama A&M University campus. This iconic building will be utilized not only by AAMU but also by the community for functions, graduations, tournaments, and other events. The imagery of the building is contemporary with its use of glass and metal panels but uses a palette of brick, stone, and classical columns to create a relationship with the traditional campus. This 5,000-seat arena also includes meeting rooms, an event kitchen to serve large events, four concession areas around the concourse level, a weight room, a training room, locker rooms, offices for the basketball and volleyball programs, an event suite with an elevated patio overlooking the hill, and a Hall of Fame. Visitors ascend a monumental staircase on the exterior entrance side of the building to the concourse level. This staircase perforates into the interior. This facility will celebrate the history of the university while creating a bold new face for the future of the campus. Read More
